QNAP TS-412U Turbo NAS è un server di archiviazione collegato alla rete con configurazione a telaio, progettato per piccoli e medi imprenditori che richiedono una soluzione di archiviazione accessibile e a basso consumo di energia. Il TS-412U può essere facilmente installato e mantenuto nella server room. E' la soluzione ideale per il backup, la gestione e la condivisione dei dati di massa. Inoltre, il NAS offre un eccellente modello di hardware, performance fuori dal comune, alta affidabilità ed espansibilità e numerose ed efficienti applicazioni di sofware. E' indubbiamente il modello ai vertici per quanto riguarda il NAS 4-bay a telaio 1U.
Il TS-412U adotta memoria Marvell 1.2GHz CPU e 256MB DDRII. Supporta 4 hard drive SATA sostituibili a caldo a 2.5 pollici e 3.5 pollici, 2 porte Gigabit LAN per impostazioni multiple IP e port trunking (7 modalità bonding). Il NAS è equipaggiato di 4 porte USB e porte eSATA per espansione dell'archiviazione oppure backup di dati esterno.
Il TS-412U supporta RAID 0/ 1/ 5/ 6/ 10/ 5+spare, singolo e configurazioni di disco JBOD. Questa espansione della Capacità di Archiviazione, unica del suo genere, insieme alla Migrazione del Livello del RAID Online consente di espandere la capacità dell'archiviazione della configurazione del RAID e di aggiornare il livello senza dover spegnere il server. La funzione ripristino del RAID mette al sicuro i dati del server da possibili rimozioni accidentali degli hard drive.
Inoltre, il TS-412U supporta NAS e applicazioni iSCSI che forniscono una soluzione IP SAN efficace, altamente flessibile e a basso costo per utenti SMB. Possono essere creati fino ad 8 target iSCSIsul NAS per l'espansione dell'archiviazione del PC o altri server e destinazioni di backup dei server di database e di posta, ecc. Il TS-412U è fornito di drive di disco virtuale (VDD) attraverso iniziatore iSCSI incorporato tanto che possono essere aggiunti altri dispositivi iSCSI sulla rete per espandere la capacità di archiviazione sul NAS.
Il TS-412U offre ricche ed efficaci applicazioni alle quali è possibile accedere attraverso Windows, Mac, Linux e UNIX. Sono, inoltre, forniti numerosi strumenti di gestione utili per gestire in maniera efficiente il NAS, es. Windows Active Directory (AD), monitoraggio di sistema in tempo reale, registri di evento dettagliati, protocollo di Gestione di Rete semplice (SNMP), SMS di avviso istantanei e gestione programmata accensione/spegnimento per la gestione del NAS in maniera efficiente.
